What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. Among other things, it can store preferences, measure an audience or track a visitor from one site to another.

What Chauffitherm does not use

The website www.chauffitherm.be sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking cookies. In practice:

  • no Google Analytics or any other statistics tool;
  • no advertising pixel (Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn or other);
  • no sharing of your browsing with advertising networks;
  • no profiling and no reselling of data.

That is also why no consent banner appears when you arrive: there is nothing to accept.

The only case where cookies are set

The Contact and Areas we cover pages offer a Google Maps map showing where we set out from. That map is not loaded automatically: in its place, a box invites you to display it.

  • As long as you do not click on “Show the Google Maps map”, no connection is made to Google and no Google cookie is set.
  • If you click, the map is loaded from Google's servers. Google may then set its own cookies and receive your IP address as well as information about your browser. This loading rests on your consent, given by that click.
  • Consent is not remembered: the map is hidden again as soon as you reload the page or come back later.

These cookies are set and managed by Google, not by Chauffitherm SRL. Their lifetime and purpose are governed by Google's privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Technical cookies

Our host may use mechanisms strictly necessary for the proper operation and security of the site (load balancing, protection against abuse). They are used neither for advertising tracking nor to analyse your behaviour, and are exempt from consent under Article 129 of the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications.

Managing cookies in your browser

You remain in control of the cookies stored on your device at all times. You can view, delete or block them from your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari: Settings → Safari → Block all cookies / Clear history and website data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and site data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.

Blocking third-party cookies does not prevent you from browsing the site or sending a quote request. Only the display of the Google Maps map may be affected.
